Course Description

In this course, we are going to talk about a set of fundamental and powerful leadership skills known as emotional intelligence. Sometimes called EI or EQ, I like to refer to these skills simply as emotional and relational wisdom. I am going to show how they apply directly to the work of pastors and other church leaders.

Hi! I am Christian psychologist Dr. Jeannie Clarkson and the author of The Emotionally Intelligent Pastor which is also the name of this course. My goal is for you to take away key skills to enhance your leadership and ministry. In this course, we are going to talk about a set of fundamental and powerful leadership skills known as emotional intelligence.

My research and the research of others show that these skills help prevent clergy burnout and they improve a pastor’s ability to deeply influence others. Not only that but they are deeply rooted in biblical truth.
