Course Description

Families are the number-one spiritual influence in the lives of children. But many families are not embracing this responsibility. In this course, Engaging Families, you will consider the challenges contemporary families face in your context. You will explore what the Scriptures say about the role of families in the spiritual nurture of children and learn practical ideas for helping parents to disciple their children at home. But families also need to partner with the church, so you will identify ways the church can connect with and support families. Throughout the course you will have time to reflect on what God is saying to you about engaging families in children’s discipleship.

This course is part of a collection of courses on basic children’s ministry, called “TWELVE,” developed by the 1for50 movement.

Presenter: Jenny Goenewan - Indonesia

Jenny is an “Edutainer,” combining Education and Entertainment to reach, disciple, and empower the next generation. Jenny has dedicated herself to serve training events, seminars, and workshops for parents and ministry leaders, as well as camps for children from many churches, schools, and organizations. Currently she is a Regional Champion with the 1for50 Movement in Indonesia, is engaged with Operation Christmas Child (Samaritan’s Purse) as the Discipleship Coordinator for Central Indonesia, and is actively leading Children-at-Risk Networks in East Java. Her enthusiasm and creativity in teaching and sharing both educates and entertains her audience. She is especially passionate to equip children's ministry leaders to reach out to children and impact them to become influential Kingdom Champions.
